"The King and I" by Opal Carew - Not for Me

King and I - Opal Carew

I put a bunch of SF, Fantasy, and Paranormal ebooks on hold at public library.  This one just downloaded and I just sent it back unfinished.

Not for me; did not read enough to rate or review.

Just never made it past the ooh-isn't-everyone over the top gorgeous prose.  Well, purple prose with "bouncing breasts" "muscular butts" and "clenching wombs" -- I must say it wasn't slut shaming at least.  The just met group of female characters seemed to become near immediate best buds and protective of each other if oddly interested in noticing each other's sexual attributes.

I dropped after the TSTL bunch followed stranger down deserted, dilapidated hallway to a supposed VIP elevator that did not look VIP but got into anyway.  Voila! Transported up to spaceship with more drop dead gorgeous people who are aliens and despite being separated and bossed around still clenching wombs and bouncing breasts.

And then told creepy tale of how they were being taken to their soul-mates ... blech!

Not for me.  But it was just the type of story and the style of the writing that was my problem.  The text wasn't some torturous weird sentence structuring and typo-laden thing that made it hard to read -- it was readable.  Readable -- but not my cup of tea.
