Just an avid reader. Mostly SF/Fantasy, some hobbies, paranormal, urban fantasy and lighter, fluffier things.
1. Do you have a certain place in your home for reading? Couch.
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper? ereader bookmark usually. Otherwise with print books if I have bookmark handy will use it and if not a random piece of paper (usually shake out magazines for those loose cards).
3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop read after a chapter / certain number of pages? Huh? Stop reading before a book is finished without some real life interruption by outside influences?
4. Do you eat or drink while read? Yes, except sometimes in the really engrossing parts I freeze and do nothing but read.
5. Multitasking: music or TV while reading? Multi-task. Music or tv; sometimes computer work ongoing and reading while waiting for some long process to finish.
6. One book at a time or several at once? Several. Plus there's always something new that seems interesting, library waitlist priorities, lovely friends loaning something, etc. Sometimes current book stalls and I put aside to try again later or something gets too intense where I need a break.
7. Reading at home or everywhere? Everywhere. Particularly airports and planes during business travels.
8. Reading out loud or silently in your head? Silently (unless to kids).
9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages? Never (unless checking to see if a familiar seeming book is one I already read).
10. Barking the spine or keeping it like new? Mostly ebooks but on print books I try to keep like new.
11. Do you write in your books? Nope, not even text/reference books. I will use post-its and post-it flags to mark things. If a tech/reference manual in a three ring binder printed only on one side of the page, I might use the blank backside for notes (more likely to open the rings and add notebook paper). It's one reason I like ebooks -- the ability to highlight (particularly the B&N Nook Study features) and note without damaging.
