Just an avid reader. Mostly SF/Fantasy, some hobbies, paranormal, urban fantasy and lighter, fluffier things.
Already showing the author's skill: a few broad strokes and I feel I know -- and potentially like -- the main characters.
I know it's supposed to be a humorous chicklit (contemporary romance) so that "liking" is important to me because the characters are the book. I loathe slogging thru a romance where you really could care less what happened to anyone and in fact might wish it took a mystery turn where the douchebag of the love pairing got offed.
A bit creepy, though. Which is why I added the "potentially" qualifier. He's already pictured her soaped up naked in his shower. Plus just because hiring through an employment agency (that quite frankly misrepresented both potential employer and employee to each other) is no reason to run off into the wilds with a stranger wanting to defraud a bank. No criminal background check, no internet stalk, neither the agency or the chick questioning the criminal element of the wife-for-hire so loan officer thinks man with slacker history is married.
*sigh* putting on my suspend-disbelief-hat and going back to being caught up in the read.
