Just an avid reader. Mostly SF/Fantasy, some hobbies, paranormal, urban fantasy and lighter, fluffier things.
Spaceship with supposedly tough heroine, a beloved AI and aliens, check. Murky conspiracies and return to what sounds like feudal society planet forced against her will by what descriptions make seem might be a love interest, not so much but could be written well.
Not sure how much of this will be a spaceship type of read, but so far enjoying. I hope there is more "show" of her toughness rather than devolving into the princess only described as tough to be special compared to the wimpier, more hide bound sillier girls back on her planet — I've clearly been scarred by recent samplings of one too many bad YA books.
Honor Harrington, Cordelia Vorkosigan and Serrano worked for me; maybe Hail will, too.
